Abstract
The objective of this research was to study suitability of compressed bio-methane gas (CBG) to use in vehicles by considering it's Wobbe Index (WI). Wobbe index can be used to increase burner efficiency. In this experiment, the average heating value of CBG was 32.43 MJ/Nm3 and specific gravity of CBG at 0 °C 1-atmosphere pressure was 0.67 kg/m3. Therefore, the Wobbe index was 39.62 MJ/Nm3, It was classified in family 2 subordinate type with Wobbe index (2L) of 39 - 45 MJ/Nm3. The natural gas quality for vehicle standards by the Department of Energy Business, Ministry of Energy, Thailand required heating value is 37- 42 MJ/Nm3. The Wobbe index result show at that the CBG is suitable to use for the shuttle bus in Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand.
