Abstract
Newly developed method for manufacturing hollow structural component, such as truss, honeycomb made of light metal is described. The process is composed of some consecutive ways, in other words, process fusion. The final product clearly demonstrates great potential in practical use of these processes. As component materials, some aluminum alloys and magnesium alloy AZ31 are tested with respect to diffusion bondability. Statistical analysis through Weibull distribution on simple lap shear strength shows that these materials which are not necessarily superplastic at high temperature but the lightness is of importance can be useful in this way of manufacturing structural components.
