Growth and characterization of l-leucine l-leucinium picrate single crystal: A new nonlinear optical material

▶ The title material has been synthesized and the single crystal was grown for the first time. ▶ The optical transparency was found to be good. ▶ The title material is a new nonlinear optical material and having the SHG efficiency 1.5 times higher than KDP, which the authors have investigated for the first time using Kurtz and Perry's technique. ▶ The crystalline perfection of the grown crystal was found reasonably good assessed by HRXRD. ▶ The thermal study reveals that the grown crystal is having good stability.
