Abstract
Nickel ferrite nanoplatelets have been successfully synthesized by a simple microwave assisted combustion method using trisodium citrate as a fuel. The prepared sample was chemically and structurally characterized by different techniques and the magnetic behaviour was studied by field dependent magnetization measurement. The obtained results indicate that the prepared sample is phase pure nickel ferrite nanoplatelets having size in the range of 40-50Â nm and it exhibits a soft ferromagnetic nature with saturation magnetization of 49Â emu/g and coercivity of 167Â G. Hence proposed method is a facile approach to obtain nickel ferrite nanoplatelets for broad spectrum of applications.
