Abstract
A novel calibration-free spatial filtering velocimeter (SFV) integrated with a laser displacement sensor (LDS) is proposed aiming at compensating the fluctuation of scaling factor caused by the variation of the working distance and overcoming the disadvantage that the scaling factor has to be recalibrated after every installation. The dynamic navigation experiment results show that the scaling factor of calibration-free SFV can be automatically calibrated by LDS with satisfying accuracy compared to conventional SFV (without LDS), and the excellent parameter accuracy of calibration-free SFV is also illustrated compared to LDV. The calibration-free spatial filtering velocimeter is expected to operate in on-land navigation system and provide high-precision velocity as well as position information of the moving vehicle.
