Abstract
In this paper, a chalcogenide-based ridge waveguide with a suspended structure on the substrate of Si3N4, is designed, which is demonstrated to have low and flat dispersion profiles. Simulation results show that when the higher-order nonlinear effects and linear loss are considered, a broadband supercontinuum with high coherence ranging from 1.0 to 5. 6μm is obtained after a 3.1-mm long propagation when pumping wavelength 2.65μm
and peak power 450 W. Our proposed scheme provides a promising solution to realize broadband and highly coherent SC in mid-infrared region for nonlinear photonics and spectroscopy.
