Abstract
In this paper a biosensor based on surface plasmon resonance is presented. This sensor is based on Kretschmann configuration. First of all, the thickness of gold and silicon layers is optimized under the consideration of sensitivity, full width at half maximum, and minimum reflectance. After that, at the optimized thicknesses of gold and silicon layers, the performance of the sensor in terms of sensitivity, detection accuracy and quality factor is analyzed. The effect of increasing the number of layers of the graphene and MoS2 on the performance is also analyzed. It is observed that all the performance parameters are enhanced if a silicon layer is deposited between the gold and graphene layer. It is also observed that if graphene is replaced with MoS2, the detection accuracy and the quality factor improve with great extent while maintaining the sensitivity.
