Abstract
A multicore chalcogenide-tellurite hybrid optical fiber is designed and fabricated with three cores arranged in a trigonal array. Cores with high refractive index are made of chalcogenide glass (Ge15Ga3Sb13S69), and the background with low refractive index is made of 76.5TeO2-6Bi2O3-11.5Li2O-6ZnO (mol%, TZLB). The diameters of three cores are â¼3.12, 3.07 and 2.96 μm, and the calculated zero-dispersion wavelengths (ZDWs) are â¼2.361, 2.298 and 2.193 μm, respectively. Supercontinuum (SC) generation in each core is investigated by pumping it with the wavelengths of â¼2200 and 2400 nm from an optical parametric oscillator.
