Abstract
We study the dispersion curves of the plasmonic waves of a semicontinuous metal film that contains randomly distributed dielectric nanoparticles. We use the Maxwell-Garnet approximation to treat the random media as uniform effective media. Four branches of p-polarised surface plasmon-polariton modes are found to exist. We also illustrate the attenuated total reflection spectra of the system for the case of p-polarisation.
