Abstract
This paper discusses the experimental determination of pulsed liquid impact machining thresholds as a result of spatial and temporal distributions of transient stresses in elastically deformable single crystal materials. The results presented in this paper illustrate the importance of the first stages of liquid impact and the subsequent removal of material by lateral outflow of high-speed liquid flows.
