Abstract
The effect of various sequences and simultaneous deformation composed of cyclic torsion, monotonic torsion and monotonic tension on behavior of CuSi3.5 silicon bronze has been examined. Temperature from 20 to 600 °C and strain rate from 0.01 to 1 s−1 were applied. The relationship between flow stress and structure of silicon bronze during deformation has been determined. It has been found that the effect of initial mode of deformation is dependent on the temperature, strain rate and amplitude of the cyclic tool motion. The structure obtained after deformation sequence has a high density of slip lines and twins and the least micro-scale shear bands.
