Abstract

In this work, single-phase cubic perovskite CaCu3Ti4O12 powders have been synthesized successfully by microwave heating with a relatively low energy consumption and short time, compared with conventional synthesis. The reaction evolution of forming CCTO has been suggested according to the XRD data. The ceramics from microwave-synthesized powder was found to have higher dielectric constant than that from conventional synthesized powder under the same sintering conditions.
