Abstract
Nowadays, printer is widely used every day in people's life as one of the most important peripheral devices of computer. In this work, a portable self-powered printer system is explored where a wind-driven triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is employed as a power supply unit. The handheld printer system is constructed by using the materials of cellulose nanocrystals, Indium tin oxide, acrylic board as well as fluorinated ethylene propylene film, presenting advantages of great transparency, portability, low-cost and good durability. Driven by mouth-blown air flow, the fabricated TENG can deliver an output voltage of about 60 V and an output current of about 8 μA, which can be utilized to effectively fulfill the energy supply during the printing process. This self-powered device can provide a new route to accomplish a portable printer and widen applications of TENG as well.319
