Abstract
Redox additive-assisted electrocatalytic in situ regeneration of the electrode active materials is presented as a fourth paradigm for developing high-performance supercapacitors. 1,4-napthoquinone as a redox additive creates a tuneable redox shuttle in the PVA/H2SO4 gel electrolyte that enhances energy storage performance of the rectangular tube polyaniline. With such a deliberate design, a flexible supercapacitor with outstanding energy and power densities was fabricated.389
