Abstract
Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) coated multi-chambered micro/mesoporous carbon nanocubes-sulfur (P@CNC-S) composites were successfully synthesized using a dual confinement strategy to restrain the dissolution of lithium polysulfides and control large volume changes for lithium-sulfur batteries. As cathode, P@CNC-S composites delivered high initial capacities of 1086 mAh/g at 1C rate and long cycling life. The superior performances could be ascribed to the well-preserved rhombic multi-chambered micro/mesoporous architecture even after 1000 cycles, reasonable controlment of volume changes and the dual confinement strategy.
