Abstract
This paper demonstrates a methodology for thermal and flow analysis when forging solid- and liquid-phased rheology material. A mixture rule representing solid and liquid phases was used in the thermal analysis, and the numerical analysis was compared with simulation results by commercial software MAGMAsoft. Methods for predicting defects in rheology material and die life based on the thermal analysis have been proposed.
