Abstract
⺠X-FEM is employed to simulate quasi-static two-unequal-collinear cracks in a finite 2-D MEE specimen. ⺠TERR depends on the crack dimensions, inter-crack space and mechanical/electrical/magnetic loadings. ⺠TERR cannot be considered as a fracture criterion for magnetoelectroelastic media. ⺠Quasi-static propagation of two-unequal/equal-collinear edge cracks in MEE is simulated using X-FEM/Level Set Method. ⺠Standard eight basis functions for MEE depend upon the volume fraction and MEE material constants.
