Abstract
⺠Three-point bending simulation model with a real tip is established. ⺠This model provides the full spectrum of the mechanical properties of nanowires. ⺠The simulation results are consistent in shapes with those from experiments. ⺠The simulation results agree with the classical beam theory with axial effect. ⺠Comparable mechanical properties are obtained from bending and tension.
