Abstract
⺠The mechanical responses of fivefold twinned nanowires are studied in simulation. ⺠The relationship between the geometry and the mechanical properties is showed. ⺠A centrosymmetry parameter is defined to identify the defects evolution. ⺠Different external loading lead to different deformation modes.
