Abstract
The interactions between different 101Ì
2 twin variants sharing the same zone axis in deformed Mg-3%Al-1%Zn alloy are investigated by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Experimental characterizations reveal two kinds of twin-twin interactional situations: one twin entirely terminating at the twinning boundary of the other twin and one twin penetrating into the interior of the other twin. Correspondingly, the microstructural features associated with the interactional incidents are discussed.
