Abstract
High temperature adhesive using in air is extremely important for ceramic components. A novel adhesive for joining Al2O3 ceramic was made using polyborosilazanes usually it was donated as PSNB. The ceramic joints were heat-treated at temperatures ranging from 1300 to 1500 °C in air surroundings. The bonding strength was tested at room temperature and high temperatures respectively. The best performance of bonding strength at room temperature was 15.73 MPa, which was heat-treated at 1500 °C, 1.5 KPa for 2 h with a heating rate of 2 °C/min. The formation of Al2O3·B2O3 means the reaction of adhesive and adhesion, and result in improving the bonding strength apparently. Compared to the bonding strength at room temperature, the bonding strength at 800 °C was 12.91 MPa, only decreased 18%. The thickness of bonding layer was about 5 μm, and the small thickness has the advantage of reducing thermal residual strain.
