Abstract
This paper re-models the original in-situ tensile loading experiment and re-evaluates the concept of “twinning (occurring) before macroscopic plastic deformation (begins)” proposed in the original study. Here we provide a further discussion on the initiation and relative extent of deformation twinning and the evolution of crystallographic textures in TWIP steels.
