Abstract
The mechanism of oxide particle refinement in a Ni-based ODS alloy is discussed from the point of view of orientation relationship between the oxide particles/Ni matrix. The coherency in Ni-based ODS alloys are confirmed to be size-dependent. Misfit parameter is calculated from the HRTEM analysis. FCC Y2Hf2O7 has better coherency to the FCC Ni matrix than those of YAH and YAG. The mechanism of particle growth is regulated by Ostwald ripening. Both solubility and interfacial energy are important for the particle refinement.
