Abstract
We show more persistently-enhanced strain hardening with improved tensile strength and maintained high plasticity in Fe-18Mn-1.0C than in Fe-22Mn-0.6C steel. This is primarily attributed to the gradual release of more densely-spaced thinner twins and twin bundles favored by the increased dynamic interactions between carbon and dislocations in the carbon-increased steel.
