Abstract
⺠Hot pressing of SiC and its two composites containing MoSi2 and ZrB2 with AlN and yttria as sintering aids. ⺠The second phase decreases the strength and improves the fracture toughness. ⺠SiC becomes good electrical conductor due to the presence of conducting phases. ⺠Second phases reduce the thermal diffusivity of SiC.
