Abstract
⺠Grain boundary bulging is responsible for the nucleation of dynamic recrystallization in superaustenitic stainless steels. ⺠The average value of apparent activation energy for hot deformation is 484 kJ/mol. ⺠An anomalous increase is seen in the decreasing trend of the critical and peak strains with increasing deformation temperature. It is seen when ln Z is around 14.3. ⺠The anomalous increase of the characteristic strains is due to the dragging effect of phosphorous on grain boundaries.
