Abstract
- Several tensile and compression tests were conducted in order to investigate the mechanical properties of the AZ31 alloys containing different levels of Sr.
- The behavior of Al-Sr precipitates during tension and compression has been thoroughly analyzed by microstructural observations and fractography.
- Effect of extrusion temperature and Sr content on yield asymmetry between tension and compression has been investigated.
- It has been found that of Sr concentration is less effective in increasing the yield asymmetry after extrusion at lower temperatures.
