Abstract
												⺠Bronchial asthma is a complex disorder characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness, airway inflammation, and airway remodeling. ⺠We found the unique changes of water channel aquaporin 1 (AQP1) and aquaporin 5 (AQP5) in the small airways and alveoli in the rat asthma model. ⺠These results provide a new target of asthma treatment especially in the control of mucus hypersecretion and mucous edema.
