Abstract
⺠First demonstration of the ability of native rat amylin 1-37 to form fibrils. ⺠Conditions required for nanofibril formation have been identified. ⺠The amyloid properties of Congo-red binding plus neurotoxicity have been demonstrated for rat amylin fibrils. ⺠The rat amylin fibrils bind catalase.
