Abstract
► We detail ultrastructural toxicity of Egyptian sand viper postsynaptic neurotoxin. ► We examine the ability of grape seed extract to antagonize this toxicity. ► The neurotoxin caused alterations in diaphragm muscles, axons and nerve terminals. ► The toxic activities of the neurotoxin were inhibited by grape seed extract. ► Grape seed extract has protective & therapeutic potential to be used as antivenom.
