Abstract
A ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic spin-5/2 Blume-Emery-Griffiths system on a graphene layer have been studied within the framework of the Monte Carlo simulation. The effects of the crystal field D, the biquadratic exchange interaction K and the external magnetic field h on the critical behavior, the magnetic properties, the blocking temperature and the hysteresis behavior have been studied.
