Abstract
⺠Extruded Ni-Al mixture may fully react from a temperature of 550 °C. ⺠Heating rate has a strong influence on the reaction pathway the sample will take. ⺠Using a low heating rate, full conversion to AlNi is possible through solid state diffusion. ⺠Solid state diffusion yields AlNi whose preferred orientation is linked to Al initial preferred orientation.
