Abstract
► Investigation of the phase-separated microstructure in Zr35Gd20Al25−xNi20+x alloys. ► Molten Zr35Gd20Al23Ni22 undergoes metastable liquid phase separation. ► Enough GFA enabling formation of 1 mm diameter phase-separating glass. ► Selection of phase separation mechanism is affected by the degree of undercooling. ► The composition of the separated glasses is strongly affected by kinetic condition.
