Abstract
⺠Fe may form glasses with Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, and Ta and it is not favorable with V, Cr, Mo, W. ⺠In Fe-Zr-Nb, Fe-Ti-Nb, Fe-Cr-Zr systems glasses form over a wide composition range. ⶠLaves phase compositions can be potential glass formers in Fe-ETM alloys. ⶠFe with Zr, Ti, Hf, Nb and Ta tends to transform to glasses or intermetallics when supercooled. ⶠThe interplay of chemical and elastic component of enthalpy will dictate the phase formation in the alloys.
