Abstract
► Severe plastic deformation of iron aluminide is achieved by high temperature forging. ► Second phases are broken into finer, more homogeneously distributed particles. ► Refinement of second phase particles is easiest for initially elongated morphology. ► Good mechanical behaviour is expected from the fine and uniform material obtained.
