Abstract
A modified Pagano method is developed for the three-dimensional (3D) analysis of simply-supported, functionally graded (FG) rectangular plates under magneto-electro-mechanical loads. The material properties of FG plates are considered to obey a power-law distribution of the volume fractions of the constituents through the thickness coordinate. The Pagano method is modified in that a displacement-based formulation is replaced by a mixed formulation, the complex-values solutions of the system equations are transferred to the real-values solutions, and a successive approximation method is used to make the modified Pagano method feasible for the coupled analysis of FG plates.
