Abstract
The behavior of non-volatile strain was observed in K-doped (Pb0.99Nb0.02)[(Zr0.70Sn0.30)0.52Ti0.48]O3 ceramics after being poled at 180â¯Â°C. A maximum non-volatile strain of 2.6â° was obtained in the 0.8â¯wt% K-doped sample and its cycling stability performed well after 105 electric cycles at 30â¯kV/cm. The mechanism of the defect dipole rotation was proposed to explain the large non-volatile strain. This study opens a new development window for the information storage technologies of ferroelectrics.
