Abstract
Both static electropulsing induced discontinuous and continuous phase transformations of a cold-drawn ZA27 alloy wire were studied by using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and electron back-scattered diffraction techniques. Electropulsing accelerated tremendously phase transformations in the ZA27 alloy wires. One and half circulation of both discontinuous and the continuous phase transformations were quantitatively detected to occur by ways of quenching - up quenching - quenching within 150s of 20Â A-EPT. Mechanism of the transformation are discussed from point of view of Gibbs free energy and electropulsing kinetics.
