Abstract
Layered-spinel composite cathode material Li1.1Ni0.25Mn0.75O2.3 have been synthesized and cooled by different methods (naturally cooled within the furnace ('a') and cooled in liquid nitrogen ('b')). Compared with cooled with furnace ('a'), the Li1.1Ni0.25Mn0.75O2.3 cooled in liquid nitrogen ('b') displays high reversible capacity, excellent cycling stability and rate performance. It delivers high initial discharge capacity of 255.6 mAh gâ1 at 0.1 C and maintains a capacity retaining ratios of 102.4% after 50 cycles at 0.2 C. The discharge capacity at 10 C rate is 94 mAh gâ1.98
