Abstract
⺠Elevated temperature melt AZ91D alloy was observed to infiltrate into fiber preform “visually” through new designed apparatus. ⺠Theoretical model for describing infiltration mechanism was established. ⺠Threshold pressure of infiltration was successfully measured through experiments and compared with theoretical predicted results.
