Abstract
Due to the rapidly expanding usage of PM materials for highly loaded structural parts an assessment of the fatigue strength is advantageous already in the virtual design stage. Over the last years the highly stressed volume concept has been proved as an approach for an excellent method to assess the local durability in sharp notched areas considering the local properties of the material. This paper presents an estimation of the local durability based on the highly stressed volume approach by simply determinable static material properties including also sinter-hardened conditions.
