Abstract
We report an analytical solution to a problem of steady axisymmetric fragmentation and evaporation in a circular pipe using a multiphase transport approach including diffusion. We show specific examples of the applicability of this solution to the problem of an aerosol flow in a pipe undergoing evaporation and fragmentation involving size dependent diffusivity. The early part of the subsequent discussion will be carried out in the context of fragmentation only. A methodology to treat evaporation as an equivalent fragmentation process will then be utilized.
