Abstract
A thiolated magnetic double-layered core-shell particles Fe3O4@SiO2@C-SH is synthesized and characterized. The application in Hg2+ removal is discussed. The removal can finished in 10â¯min with high efficiency, and the maximum adsorption capacity is 184.00â¯mg/g. The adsorption fits the Freundlich adsorption isotherm and the adsorption kinetic is the second-order kinetic. Through Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isothermal adsorption analysis, it is found the adsorption for Hg2+ is mainly physical adsorption, accompanied by chemical one. The method provides a new way for designing double-layered materials aiming to remove heavy metal in waste water.
