Abstract
A new phosphor of La3â3xEu3xGa4TiO14 (xâ¯=â¯0-0.1) was synthesized via the solid-state reaction. The structure refinements verified the pure trigonal structure. La3Ga4TiO14 has a self-activated white-luminescence at room temperature. This is special in comparison with the reported Ti-phosphors, which usually show the room-temperature quenched blue or yellow emissions. The near-UV and blue-light can efficiently excite La3â3xEu3xGa4TiO14 (xâ¯=â¯0.01-0.1) showing the orange-red tunable luminescence with a dependence on Eu3+-contents. The experimental lamps were fabricated using LED-chips in combination with single phosphor of La3â3xEu3xGa4TiO14 (xâ¯=â¯0, 0.03, 0.07) driven by 2â¯mA current. This is a promising candidate in solid-state lighting and displays.
