Abstract
2D Nanostructured layered materials possess high surface area and are excellent catalyts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, we report the synthesis and catalytic efficacies of 2D nanoflowers (NFs) like MoSe2 and MoS2 materials for the HER and compared their electrocatalytic properties. The MoSe2 NFs electrode displays superior electrocatalytic activity when compared with MoS2 NFs electrode. The MoSe2 and MoS2 exhibited current density of 10.96 mA/cm2 and 7.12 mA/cm2 respectively at an overpotential of 300 mV vs reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE).
