Abstract
Pure, Ho3+- and Ho3+/Yb3+-modified PSN-PMN-PT crystals are grown by using the flux method. A series of absorption peaks related to Ho3+ and Yb3+ ions are detected at VIS-NIR bands. Under the excitation of 980â¯nm laser, bright UC PLs are observed for Ho3+- and Ho3+/Yb3+-modified systems. The lifetime from 5F4/5S2 energy level of Ho3+ and absolute QY-UC for Ho3+/Yb3+-modified crystals are 56.15/182.42â¯Î¼s and 0.056%, respectively. These findings make the PSN-PMN-PT crystals become a promising candidate in colour displays, solid-state lasers, and optical memories. It also gives us a expectation to develop ferroelectric crystals to a new multifunctional materials.
