Abstract
A fully nonlinear wave analysis is performed for an acceleration wave which propagates through an anisotropic porous medium. The anisotropic effect of the body is clearly evident in the form for the wavespeeds. We also fully determine the wave amplitudes and the anisotropy is found to have a strong effect on wave amplitude attenuation. In particular, cross-diagonal effects of the inertia and permeability tensors play an important role.
