Abstract
Mn3B7O13Cl nanocrystals were firstly prepared by sol-gel process. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) were utilized to characterize the structure, shape, size of the obtained products. Microstructure and luminescence characteristics of Mn3B7O13Cl were discussed. The results show that Mn3B7O13Cl nanocrystals can be obtained after xerogel was roasted at 550 °C, the nanocrystals are uniform and the average crystal size is about 50 nm. Two luminescence channels can be observed in Mn3B7O13Cl nanocrystal. Luminescence around green wave band (511-541 nm) and red wave band (686-731 nm) are the emission of Mn2+ which occupies the center of tetragonal coordination and octahedral coordination, respectively. Both of them are assigned to the transition from 4T1 (G) to 6A1(S) of Mn2+.
