Abstract
In this paper the free vibration frequencies of Euler–Bernoulli tapered beams are deduced. The symbolic software Mathematica is used in order to find the free vibration frequencies of a beam carrying a tip mass, a single dashpot at an arbitrary location and elastically constrained at left. The frequency equation is deduced and analytically solved. Various numerical examples are investigated.
