Abstract
In this work we report the synthesis, the microstructural characterization and the magnetic properties of neodymium spinel ferrites doped with transition metal (Co, Ni, Mn) nanoparticles prepared by co-precipitation method. The effect of different doping elements (Cobalt, Nickel and Manganese) on the structural and magnetic properties was studied. The Nd0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 and Nd0.5Mn0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles prepared possess superparamagnetic phases; however the Nd0.5Co0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles have a ferrimagnetic phase. The observed saturation magnetization and the remanent magnetization values of Nd0,5Co0,5Fe2O4, Nd0,5Ni0,5Fe2O4 and Nd0,5Mn0,5Fe2O4 are higher than NdFe2O4. Moreover, the coercive field for Ni-Nd ferrite and Mn-Nd ferrite are lower than that observed for NdFe2O4. In this work, the coercive field for Co-Nd ferrite is higher than that obtained for NdFe2O4.
